Illustration of Illini Union Column

For the course Introduction to Architecture, we were challenged to illustrate a detail. The Illini Union building is full of these incredibly ornate columns, so I was thrilled to study their classical design. It was a bit of a challenge considering the ceiling is around 15 feet tall, but getting the proportions right and using my pencil for proportions, plus the help of a photo reference, was really helpful.
